Cap 'n Jazz
Chicago’s Cap ‘n Jazz was one of the bands that preoccupied my teenage angst years which last from about 11 - 25. I had to grow up and be an adult as a teenager so my real teenager years were 18 - 25. I still got into plenty of teenage antics from 11 - 18 but that is simply another story that I will never tell here. Cap ‘n Jazz was a band I simply fell in love with upon the...

You Know It Is Christmas Time When Renditions of...
Aside from “Charlie Brown’s Christmas”, I cannot begin to think of what other signs we have to really know it is the holiday season and I am happy to report that mass rampant consumerism really isn’t one of them. However, screening and performances of “It’s A Wonderful Life”, just happen to come along with the holiday season. If you’re like me,...

11/12/2011: No Trigger & A Wilhelm Scream, Albany,...
It is hard to say that one certain thing gave me my path of being an aspiring photojournalist. Like any one person’s life, we grow more and more from our everyday experiences. I can say for sure though that the boys in No Trigger were a motivating factor for me working two jobs, beating the hell out of my body to save up some money to buy a damn camera and hit...

October 15th Global March of Solidarity in...
(The sign reads, “This Is What Democracy Looks Like”. I know these photos are dated but I wanted to publish them none the less. I was urged to originally cover the global solidarity march on October 15th in NYC but I felt in the idea of solidarity everywhere should have coverage, my hometown, being no exception. I am not...

Brandon's Last Day At Record Archive
Brandon was a staple of the Record Archive for the past 8 years. I am slowly getting around to doing portraits of everyone in the store but of course, this charming man had to be the first. The man will always be around but the store will not be the same without him. Good luck man in whatever you do.

Genesee 12 Horse Ale Re-Release
(Genesee Brewery worker oversees the crowd gathered for 12 Horses’s release) Doing it how they did it back in the late 1800’s. I just believe that instead of cases, they were delivering barrels of their finest ales for the locals to become rowdy and good-spirited on. The re-release of Genesee Brewery’s 12 Horse Ale was meet with more fan fare and media attention then...

Luke & Phoebe Get Married! October 1st, 2011
This was a hell of a wedding. It took place at Gilbert Lake New York State Park. Overcast and raining all day long but just because it looked crummy out did not mean it wasn’t a simply great time. Congrats you two.

Father & Son
Tommy Brunett & Son at the Record Archive performing for the Fairport Music Festival Check Presentation To Galisano Childrens Hospital. I had stopped into the Record Archive randomly the other day and heard about this show with Tommy and The Public Market Band. As an aspiring photojournalist I always keep a camera on me at all times as I have no idea when a great opportunity will present...

Sometimes I Do Favors For Friends...
I have always been an individual in transition or constant motion. To be fair, who isn’t? We are always learning and push ourselves to our goals and dreams. For me that is to push my work to being based on sincere and honest moments. I strive to become a photojournalist. That is who I feel I am as a photographer and what I am striving to do with my work. With that said, every once in a...

Our hero Declan departs! After a dangerous journey down to the Tri-State area, spending time on late night delivery adventures and a healthy breakfast at the hospitality with the boys in Timeshares, Declan made it to John F. Kennedy International Airport in time for his flight to Spain. I was able to guarantee his safety only up until this point, from here on out, he is on his...

Jeffrey Haschmann
Jeff Haschmann is a goddamn dream boat. He is a talented drummer, rockstar, philosopher, can grow one hell of a beard and an all around outstanding slab of human being. I ran into Jeff for a brief second this morning as I was out and about walking around the South Wedge neighborhood on my new found day off when for a brief moment in time, we crossed paths. I always tend to find Jeff in...

It Rained Today In Rochester!!
And what rain it was today in Rochester! I am always a person who is up for a great storm. Last night and today gave me my fix. It didn’t last as nearly as long as it should have but a simple taste put a smile on my face. Now the golden rule for any budding photojournalist is to have a camera on them at ALL TIMES. I have a Nikon D7000 and a busted Tokina 12-24mm lens...

This Is Hobbes.
This is Hobbes. A member of my girlfriend Miranda’s family. I was asked to come out and take a few photos of Hobbes being Hobbes. She vowed published images of Hobbes would make me famous, although I greatly disagree, that doesn’t change that fact that for a 6 month year old pup, Hobbes rules. He lives a simple life only most of us can dream of; sleeping, eating,...

John Thomas Stefano August 22nd,1930 to July...
I’m not sure where to begin…How can one sum up nearly 81 years of life in just a few photos? I know I can’t but I tried like hell to give it my best. To get to the point, my father passed away on Thursday, July 14th at the age of 80. The cause was dementia, he had it for over ten years and if not longer but not diagnosed. Myself being only 27...

Thursday, July 14th; Mayflower, Gunnar Stahl &...
I’ve have had some personal dealings these past few weeks that required my devout attention so getting to publishing work has been at best difficult. What better way to get back into things by publishing photos of the very thing that got me started in photojournalism? Music. I feel bad because I was unable to catch Landmines but the good...

Lea and Mike Get Married!
This was a great wedding to photograph hands down. I found it more interesting how Lea had was playing dual roles of bride to be/mother. Her kids took a few falls, got into some amount of trouble (They’re kids after all) and of course wanted their mother. The entire day was a blast and I wish Mike and Lea the best, congrats guys!

Burger Time!
If you’re an American and it’s the Fourth of July, grilling is a long time honored tradition along with consumption of alcohol while watching things explode or setting them off yourself. While the logic in said traditions sometimes baffles me (for reasons I won’t discuss here), I will say that I would be damned not to be grilling on such a day. I make burgers somewhat often...

This Is James...
This man is likely to be my accomplice in journalism crime. Digging up stories that no other folks would touch. He is a writer, philosopher, avid Irishman and consumer of fine alcoholic beverages. As the years go on I am sure the level of involvement we will have in each others work will be rather apparent. To be honest, life just seems to make sense for us the closer we are to living on the...

July 4th, 9am: Breakfast! The Right Time...
(Photo Cred: Declan Ryan) That title might be a little elusive to most as I can see it only being relevant to two maybe three people outside of myself. However I couldn’t help but think it was a great place to start my rather insane Fourth of July Holiday weekend. It started Thursday when I received my Canon 5D MKII rental for the weekend in my hands and really didn’t...

How I Take Pictures.
I am a person who always wants my work to speak for itself. I am not big on being a sales man but rather let people be able to elicit an honest emotional reaction from my work. They can judge from there if they choose to hire me for work or not. Photographing more and more commercial work and weddings makes me look at the process and myself a lot more. I am not only selling the image but the...

Evan & Marissa Get Engaged!
Evan McNamara & Marissa Lynn are engaged after a good amount of years spent together. The rad thing is Evan asked me to be their wedding photographer nearly a year before he actually proposed. Now I’m not sure if he knew Marissa was gonna say “yes” or not but I think Evan is a very well-prepared individual. The weddings not till 2013 but it’ll be a...
