Genesee 12 Horse Ale Re-Release

(Genesee Brewery worker oversees the crowd gathered for 12 Horses’s release)

Doing it how they did it back in the late 1800’s. I just believe that instead of cases, they were delivering barrels of their finest ales for the locals to become rowdy and good-spirited on. The re-release of Genesee Brewery’s 12 Horse Ale was meet with more fan fare and media attention then most protests and violent crimes that occur in our fair city.
The anticipation was high as this beer which was Genesee’s first beer they released following the repeal of the 18th Amendment to The Constitution, has not had a proper release for nearly 25 years. The beer resurfaced a couple of times in the past couple of decades but it was not of the original recipe which found the beer off the shelf faster than it was put on. But this time around the Brewery went all out, diving into their vault to pull out their box of secrets and to re-start their former bottling line that once poured that soothing ale into what appears to be brown grenade sized bottles.
Unfortunately, the beer cannot be purchased on it’s own but is currently available in the breweries heritage series pack that contains their original Genesee beer and their much beloved Cream Ale which quenches the thirst and pockets of beer lovers from New York to Florida. There is hopes from Genesee fans across the board that 6-packs of 12 Horse will be available sooner than later.
The fan-fare surround this beers release only seems to signal that the breweries are a beacon of social and economic prosperity in our ever changing economic climate. Rochester being a working class industrial city along the great lakes is seeing a rising growth in openings of local breweries and an rising interest in craft beer culture. I think the “Record Archive Guy” summed up the fans of Genesee beer the best just moments after he had his first salivating taste of 12 Horse since 1985, “Now that’s a 12 Horse!”
It Rained Today In Rochester!!

And what rain it was today in Rochester! I am always a person who is up for a great storm. Last night and today gave me my fix. It didn’t last as nearly as long as it should have but a simple taste put a smile on my face.
Now the golden rule for any budding photojournalist is to have a camera on them at ALL TIMES. I have a Nikon D7000 and a busted Tokina 12-24mm lens kicking around so I got out there and snapped a few photos in the East Ave/Winton Road area on my way to Record Archive after a quick stop at Beers of The World. I never did make it to the archive but I did wander around a bit, attempting to cross police lines (No permission was granted) and get as close as I could to the submerged vehicles without falling into the brown looking water.
A few folks that I did talk to were stranded and unable to get home, all in all it made for a note worthy couple of hours playing in the rain.
Thursday, July 14th; Mayflower, Gunnar Stahl & Such Gold in Rochester,NY

I’ve have had some personal dealings these past few weeks that required my devout attention so getting to publishing work has been at best difficult. What better way to get back into things by publishing photos of the very thing that got me started in photojournalism? Music. I feel bad because I was unable to catch Landmines but the good folks in Mayflower, Gunnar Stahl and Such Gold did not disappoint as always. Enjoy the photos and more work will be coming sooner than later.
Lea and Mike Get Married!

This was a great wedding to photograph hands down. I found it more interesting how Lea had was playing dual roles of bride to be/mother. Her kids took a few falls, got into some amount of trouble (They’re kids after all) and of course wanted their mother. The entire day was a blast and I wish Mike and Lea the best, congrats guys!
Nate & Rosalie Get Engaged!
The winning photo (of mine) for Rohrbach’s Ale’s & Lagers Photo Exhibit. If you’re in the greater Rochester area and love beer, get down to the Rohrbach’s Brewery on Railroad Street near the Public Market for a view of rad photos and great beer!
And We Are Off And Running! Dave & Caitlin Get Engaged!
I guess Spring time is the first for a lot of things, Dave & Caitlin get engaged, I pick up a camera for the first time in over FOUR MONTHS!! and my first wedding of the year is this Saturday in Boston… Shooting with Dave & Caitlin was great and I can only begin to imagine how much fun their wedding is gonna be. Expect more updates soon, but it is time for bed and leaving Rochester for Boston at 10am sharp! As always…Enjoy.

Unfortunately the bands name escapes me at the moment but I feel that “The Jeff Brotherhood Band” is on the tip of my tongue…regardless I’m not 100% sure. Despite the failure of my memory I do recall them being one of the best bands I saw last year. They were fun to shoot and I turned off my camera before the end of their set which was a huge mistake on my end because it only got better at the end.
